1974 ~ Mr. James Walter ‘Jim’ Hendrickson ~ 2021 "He Will Be Sadly Missed"

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Mr. James Walter ‘Jim’ Hendrickson on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the age of 46 years. Jim was born on March 19, 1974 in Innisfail, Alberta, to Harvey and Marilyn Hendrickson. He grew up in Spruce View; where he attended school, played minor hockey and was involved in 4-H. At a young age, Jim developed a passion for working with tools; always taking things apart and putting them back together. He spent endless hours with his dad working on vehicles. Being outdoors was a big part of his life. He enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, camping and water skiing. In later years, he took up the bow and arrow, and hunting. Jim was blessed with two boys, from his first marriage. He devoted his time to them; teaching them the things he enjoyed as a young child. Jim met Sarah (Willet) Hendrickson in 2011 and they were married in Canmore, Alberta, in 2013. Together, they built a life centered on their blended family and pets. Their activities including quadding, snowmobiling, biking, camping and fishing. Jim worked at numerous jobs; eventually going back to school and obtaining his First-Class Gas Ticket. He worked at the Crossroads Gas Co-op in Innisfail and Foothills Natural Gas Co-op in Olds. Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Jim leaves to mourn his loving wife, Sarah and his two sons, Tanner and Caylem. He will also be sadly missed by his brothers, Tom (Lisa), Howard (Mary Anne) and Micheal (Candice), his uncles, Gerald Glenn (Sharon), and Jim (Rita) Derksen, his aunts, Judy (Berry) Leachman, Gail (Howard) Robertson, Roxy Carruthers (Mitch), Bernice Willsie, Ruth (John) Lemke and Jackie Goodeye, his parents-in-law, Warren (Teala) Willet, his sisters-in-law, Robin Powell and Jennifer Willet; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nephews and cousins. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Harvey and Marilyn, and his maternal and paternal, grandparents. A Private Family Gathering will be held in the coming days, followed by Public Celebration of Jim’s life, at a later date.
