Danielle Selina Cain (nee Melanson), beloved mother, nana, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, and friend passed from this life unexpectedly on Monday, June 19, 2023 at the age of 48 years. Danielle was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and moved out to Western Canada as a small child, where her family eventually settled in Red Deer, Alberta. Danielle grew up loving tap, jazz and ballet dancing. She was a beautiful dancer. Danielle was also very artistic, a capable chef and talented hairdresser. Danielle had a sense of wanderlust early in life, taking her to live in places like Banff, and Victoria, in her teenage years. She eventually made her way back to Red Deer, where she started her family. First with Emma, and then Abigale. Danielle loved her girls fiercely and took great pride in her daughters. Her sense for adventure and travel continued once she was a mom, and soon her precious family moved to multiple locations around the globe from Thailand, Houston, Lunenberg, and then back to the Red Deer area. Danielle was a polarizing force who lived her life as her authentic self, often challenging those who loved her. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her. With sincere hope, she will find peace and rest from the many adversities and challenges she faced in life. Danielle will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Emma and Abigale, her grandson, Jasper, her mother, Betty, her brother, Patrick (Karen) Melanson, her sister, Dawn (Curtis) Dojahn and her nieces, Hannah and Mackenzie, as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Danielle was anticipating the arrival of her second grandchild in November. Danielle was predeceased by her father, Daniel Melanson (Rose) and her stepfather, Clifford Skidmore.
