Shannon Stephan passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the age of 52 years. Shannon spent his life in the Falun and Westerose communities. He grew up on the family farm in the Falun area, was educated at Falun, with further education at Grant McEwan, Edmonton. Having married his childhood sweetheart and having two sons, life continued on the Westerose farm. Shannon worked for Flint for many years and then ventured into self-employment where he became ‘Bobcat Shannon’. There he was, able to be diverse in using his many skills and talents, creating or recreating, whether it be with wood, wire (especially custom fencing), metal, stone, rock, or dirt! Shannon enjoyed breeding dogs, and always had a yard full of his so dearly loved ‘pet family’!! He also enjoyed the outdoors, wandering the woods near and far, or a campfire, whether at home or in the mountains. Shannon was proud of his farm and always welcomed family and friends to stop by and spend time with him and his family. He was a generous, hospitable, and fun-loving man who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Shannon will be lovingly remembered by his wife of thirty-one years, Kandyce, his sons, Joshua, and Myles (Mikaila); his grandchildren, William (mother, Tiana) and Ember; his mother, Elsie; his sisters, Shauna (Trent) McLellan and their family, Elana (Greg) Hansen and their family, and his brother, Shane (Martha) Kozack and their family. Shannon was predeceased by his father, Gus Stephan; his grandparents, Anio and Matt Mattson, Adolf and Ida Stephan, and numerous other family members. A Celebration of Shannon’s Life will be take place at a later date. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
