Christopher Ible of Innisfail, Alberta, passed away on August 20, 2026.

Chris was born on September 25, 1971, in Calgary, Alberta and raised in Innisfail. He completed his education at Edmonton Academy. During his childhood he participated in numerous activities including swimming club, figure skating, minor hockey and played the clarinet in band. He had fond memories of the many ski trips with family, and of his time at Pioneer Ranch Camp, horseback riding. Chris returned to Innisfail after graduation and worked at the family grocery store, Fred’s Food Market.

In 1997, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces and serves until 2012 as a signal operator. It was a lifelong dream of his to serve and he was proud of his time in the military and cherished the brotherhood he found there. He served with the 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, 1st Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry and Headquarters and Signals Squadron, where he did one tour in Bosnia and two in Afghanistan. He was especially proud of his time with 3VP.

He met his wife, Michelle, in 1991 and they were married in 2001. They welcomed four cherished children over the years. Chris was proud of his children and loved all the time he was able to spend with them.

Chris is lovingly remembered by his spouse, Michelle Ible, his son, Keiran, his daughters Natalie (Kristy), Sophie and Sara, his father Keith Ible, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kyle and Cheryl Reynolds, his brothers Stefan (Rebecca) and Justin (Jana), his sisters, Jenith and Lynnell (Derek), His nieces and nephews, Evan and Kaelyn Dubois, Oleandra, Nolen, Azalia, and Kesler, Burton, Adeline and Elize Ible, Gabrielle and Hadfield Basnett, as well as numerous cousins and his aunt Sherrill Yaremovich.

Chris is predeceased by both his paternal and maternal grandparents, Fred (Janette) Ible and Albert (Alice) Herbert, and his mother, Mary Ottilee Ible.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Innisfail Royal Canadian Legion Branch #104 on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
