Robert “Glenn” Fleury
May 2, 1970 – July 11, 2025
“A life full of laughter, love, and purpose.”
With broken hearts and countless memories, we announce the passing of Robert Glenn Fleury, known to everyone simply as Glenn, on July 11, 2025, at the Red Deer Hospice at the age of 55 years old.
Born May 2, 1970, in Whitehorse, Yukon, Glenn had a presence that lit up every room he walked into. He was a jokester, a helper, an inventor, and a man who never sat still – always dreaming, building, fixing, and giving.
In 1990, Glenn left his job at JB Automotives to work alongside his father Wayne at Red – Alta Utility Location. Through hard work and vision, Glenn helped grow the business into a thriving success before it sold in 2007. Retirement didn’t stick – Glenn was always moving. He eventually discovered Postech Screw Piles, a system that sparked his curiosity and ambition. He became an installer in Calgary, and with time, became a Master Dealer, supplying dealers with screw piles throughout Alberta and British Columbia. He mentored others across the Postech network, often the one people leaned on for support, guidance, and creative solutions. Glenn was a man of many talents and interests. He loved restoring old vehicles, fishing, renovating, and helping out at his kids’ homes. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandkids, who brought him endless joy and pride. His mind was always spinning with great ideas, many of which turned into clever inventions that made work easier for others. Glenn’s personality was unforgettable – funny, loyal, trustworthy, witty and lovingly crowned the Snapchat King. He could make anyone laugh, always had a joke ready, and lived life with a big heart and even bigger sense of humor. He married his high school sweetheart Jody Sim, on September 26, 1992, and together they built a beautiful life rooted in love, laughter, and family. Glenn is survived by his wife Jody and their children: Kristen (Jamie) Krock, Brent Fleury (Destiny), and Kaitlyn (Josh) Billett. He was the proud Grampy to Payten, Benson, and Levi. Glenn is predeceased by his parents Charlotte Hughes and John Fleury, and is lovingly remembered by his stepfather Wayne Hughes; His siblings Sandi Fleury and Vern (Wendy) Advocaat; his niece Aly; His in-laws Don and Sonja Sim; Brother and sister in-laws Al (Corine) Sim, Barb Sim, Sandy Sim; and stepbrothers Tim (Tamera) Hughes and Terry Hughes, along with Any donations in Glenn’s memory may be made to the Red Deer Hospice at reddeerhospice.com, whose compassionate care meant so much to him and his family. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Blindman Valley Agricultural Centre, 5202 – 53 Street Close, Bentley, Alberta on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. All who knew and loved Glenn are welcome to join in remembering a man who gave so much to those around him. many nieces and nephews, and extended family members.
