GLANVILLE, Teresa
1970 – 2025
Mrs. Teresa Christine Glanville (nee Anderson) of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, on Thursday April 17 , 2025 at the age of 55 years.
She was born and raised in St. Thomas, Ontario. Teresa graduated from Central Elgin Collegiate Institute before going on to Humber and Westervelt Colleges, obtaining Marketing and Legal Assistant diplomas. While attending Westervelt College in 1994, Teresa met her husband. Following the birth of their first child, in 2002, Teresa’s husband joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Always up for an adventure as an RCMP spouse, Teresa embraced the challenges and experiences that come with managing a family and home in some of Canada’s more remote and idealistic locations. With postings in Daajing Giids, Haida Gwaii (formerly known as Queen Charlotte City) and Nanaimo, British Columbia, Iqaluit, Nunavut, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, High Prairie, Alberta and most recently Red Deer Alberta. Regardless of where, Teresa was always one to create meaningful connections with the local culture and peoples. Full of empathy and compassion, it was not uncommon for Teresa to open her home to young RCMP members and their families, in order to ensure they had a place to go throughout the holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, or to console and nurture those members and their families who were faced with turbulent times. As news of her passing has reached the corners of our country, a common theme has emerged from those Teresa met and impacted. That theme was she was considered to be a kindred spirit, dear friend and loved by many.
Teresa was the most kindhearted and gentle of souls who loved children. As her children grew and became more independent, this prompted a career as an Educational Assistant, often working with special needs children and more recently, with the Chinook’s Edge School Division as a Substitute Educational Assistant.
Teresa loved horses, riding and anything rodeo. You would often find Teresa throughout the summer at one of the many local rodeo events, gambling amongst her family on which contestant would take home the daily prize money.
Above all else, Teresa loved the family and home she created. Touted as her children’s biggest fan, Teresa absolutely adored the frequent trips to the arena to watch her girls play hockey. Yelling from the stands when another child dared to rub elbows with one of her star players, correcting her husband that regardless of winning, having fun is the most important thing and overall, relishing in her accomplishment of raising two girls who have grown into strong, caring, quick witted, independent women.
Teresa will be lovingly remembered by her husband of twenty-seven years, Paul, and her two daughters, Megan and Erica. She will also be sadly missed by her parents, Robert and Alvisia Anderson, her brother, Mark (Cheryl) Anderson, Paul’s parents, Lorne and Bonnie Glanville, Paul’s brother, Robert (Jackie) Glanville. and extended family and friends.
“Teresa, as a partner, mother, daughter and sister, the legacy and memories you left behind
are second to none. Rest easy knowing that you are truly loved and that those left behind
have solace in knowing that you are with God.”
A Celebration of Teresa’s Life will be announced at a later date. If desired, Memorial Donations in Teresa’s honor may be made directly to the Valour Place Society at www.valourplace.ca
