James William Dibben passed away suddenly at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, Red Deer, Alberta on Sunday, April 10th, 2022 at the age of 52 years. James was the much-loved husband of Nancy and a devoted father to son, Jace. He was born in Edmonton, Alberta and spent his early years in Rimbey, Alberta where he completed high school. James loved motorbikes, trucks, and anything that moved – the faster the better. After high school, he went on to work in the oilfield, where he was involved in a serious accident at the age of 21. Due to his strong character and fiercely independent nature, it didn’t slow him down. Being a natural entrepreneur, it wasn’t long before James started ‘Equalizer Exercise Machines’, and later ‘Bulletproof Bumpers’ with Justin Hillman. He was widely respected and admired for his professional ethics and his goal of providing quality products and excellent service. James and Nancy were married July 26, 1997. His unwavering love for Nancy was evident – despite his vocal dislike of horses, his encouragement was instrumental to her riding success. Their devotion and mutual understanding was the basis for a relationship that continued to grow stronger over thirty years. Their son Jace was born August 18, 2004. James and Jace spent many hours together – in the shop fixing trucks, sledding, quadding and camping with friends. James was also a very active supporter of Jace’s snowboarding and dirt biking activities. James will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Nancy, his son, Jace, his father, Al (Shelly) Dibben, his mother, Anita (Ted) Moorman. He will also be deeply missed by his sister, Nicole Gamelin, his stepsister, Suzie Allison, his stepbrothers, Chris and Sean Engbers, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Phyllis Olsen and his sisters-in-law, Sandie and Jan, as well as his niece, Tynille, and nephews, Michael, Pierce, Riley and Tyson. Flowers are welcome and any Memorial Donations may be made in James’ name to Spinal Cord Injury Alberta at www.sci-ab.ca. James will be dearly missed by us all, and the world is a little bit emptier without him in it. A Celebration of James’ Life will be held at the CrossRoads Church, 38105 Range Road 275, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.
