DIXON, Neil Robert
1965 ~ 2026
It is with deep sadness that the family of Neil Robert Dixon announce his passing on April 24, 2026 after a courageous battle. Neil was a loving devoted husband, dad and son. Neil was married to Barb for thirty-one years and was the proud father of Brant and Reilly who were the center of his world; he always supported them with quiet strength, encouragement and without a doubt, unconditional love.
Neil was known for his kindness, witty sense of humor, strong work ethic and quiet leadership, he was always a calm presence who did things in his own quiet, steady way.
Neil grew up on a farm east of Bowden, where he learned early the value of hard work, honesty, and doing a job right the first time. Those farm roots stayed with him throughout his life and showed in everything he did. He spent twenty-eight years working at Johns Manville, a place where his reliability and strong work ethic were never in question, especially if something needed doing properly.
Neil had a deep love for golf, baseball, and curling, whether he was playing, watching, or offering expert commentary from the comfort of the couch. He appreciated good competition but never took it too seriously.
A good, honest man, Neil truly loved the simplest things in life. He was happiest enjoying good food, a fun game of golf with his buddies and time with his family. Neil also enjoyed cooking, a talent that Barb always appreciated, especially since it meant she didn’t have to do it herself and in turn, he didn’t have to eat pasta seven days a week.
Neil will be remembered for his steady presence, dry sense of humor, and the quiet way he showed his love—never flashy, always dependable. He leaves behind family and friends who will miss him deeply, smile often at his memory, and think of him whenever the game is on or a meal turns out just right and it brings peace and comfort knowing that he has finally completed the foursome with Barry, Big Terry, and TBone—no doubt enjoying a good game and a few laughs along the way.
He will be deeply and sorrowfully missed by his parents, Bob and Dorothy Dixon, wife, Barb and children, Brant and Reilly. Neil also leaves behind his brother Ken (Shelley), his sister, Kathy (Brian) and numerous nieces and nephews.
