Katherine Lorrel Sayyad died on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at the age of 57 years. Kathy was born on July 5, 1965 in Estevan, Saskatchewan. She was raised in Central Alberta (Ponoka and Stettler) and later moved to Red Deer in 1981. There she finished high school before attending the Red Deer College where she graduated in 1987 at the top of her class in Nursing. Kathy was intelligent, charismatic, and kind-hearted. She surrounded herself with people who were thoughtful and important to her. Emulating her Savior Jesus, she spent her life and career in service of others, as that was what filled her heart. The profound impact she has had on those around her is immeasurable. She was a sweet and generous person who loved to laugh and will be dearly missed by those whom she loved. Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Mahmoud Sayyad, her children, Mosa Sayyad of Red Deer, Alberta and Jamel Sayyad of Lethbridge, Alberta, her parents, Robert and Sharon Brandon of Penhold, Alberta, her siblings, Brian (Ramona) Brandon of Red Deer, Alberta and Allyson Drake of Morrel, Prince Edward Island, and several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins – all who loved her very much. Kathy is predeceased by her grandparents. A Visitation will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta. A Funeral Service was held at Parkland Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with a reception followed at 2:00 p.m. at George’s Pizza & Steak House, 6715 Gaetz Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta.
