Ms. Cheryl Dianne Blatz of Clive, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the age of 60 years. Cheryl was born on September 29, 1963 in Calgary, Alberta. She lived her life in the Eclipse District and attended school in Lacombe. She spent several years working on a gravel crusher with her partner. She moved from Blackfalds to Lacombe County to get back with her horses and animals. Cheryl liked to keep very busy with numerous jobs and her absolute passion throughout her life was her horses. She had a love for Welsh ponies, Quarter Horses, and Thoroughbreds. Cheryl enjoyed her time on her farm with her grandchildren, horses, dogs and cats. Cheryl will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jenna (James) Smith; her grandchildren, Baylee, Meryssa, Alexa and Taylor; her parents, Bob Blatz (Pat Peterson) and Marilyn Mitchell (Al Houle); her brother, David Blatz and her sister, Bobbi Blatz, as well as numerous family members and dear friends. Cheryl was predeceased by her spouse, Ron Johnston. A Celebration of Cheryl’s Life will be held at a later date.
