It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mrs. Jasna Zec of Red Deer, Alberta, at Alix, Alberta on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the age of 57 years. Jasna was born and raised in Osijek, Croatia; where she worked with the United Nations during the Civil War. During her time with the United Nations, she met a Canadian Soldier, Jim; whose life she saved and who would later become her Canadian dad, upon Jasna’s and her family’s move to Canada in 1998. Jasna’s love of people and children inspired her to volunteer for Central Alberta Victim Services and to get her Diploma in Early Learning Child Care. Jasna lived her life to the fullest and touched many people’s hearts. Jasna will be lovingly and forever remembered in the hearts of her best friend and dearest love, Ranko of Red Deer, Alberta; her loving and beautiful daughters, Sara (Drew), Sasha (Kuda) and Sonja and her grandchild, Malachi. She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Miladinka (Nenad); her niece, Tamara (Sasa); her nephew, Sinisa (Fawne) and numerous other family members and dear friends. Jasna was predeceased by her parents, Emilija and Radomir. May you Rest in Peace Jasna, We Love You! A Celebration of Jasna’s Life will be held at the Whistle Stop Café, Highway 50 and Highway 21 Junction, Mirror, Alberta on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
