It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Celena ‘Fawn’ Fowler. Fawn passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at the age of 59 years. Fawn was born in Fort Saint John, British Columbia on August 19, 1963, moving to Red Deer, Alberta as a young child, where she attended school. Fawn worked in Retail as a young woman. Even though Jim and Fawn started dating in 1990, they had met and known each other as teenagers. They were married in 1993. Her two boys, Robert and James were the loves of her life. The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to Fawn. She loved cooking for her boys, canning fruits and vegetables, shopping with her mother, and had a talent for needlepoint. She was also a little obsessed with The Cooking Channel! Throughout the years, Fawn supported Jim with the family business, spending time at the office and warehouse. Fawn loved the mountains and sighting animals in the wild; enjoying an annual family vacation in Fairmont and joining the three ‘boys’ camping. Fawn loved her cat, Bean, and spoiled her with treats, constantly letting her in and out of the house. Later in life, Fawn and Jim developed a love of gardening and motorbiking. On a warm sunny day, you would find Fawn and Jim out on their three-wheeled Spyder motorcycles enjoying the day. Fawn faced her cancer diagnosis with strength and bravery. Fawn will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband, Jim; her two sons, Robert, and James; and her mother, Jean Reid. She will also be sadly missed by her brother, Loren ‘Skeeter’ Reid (Maureen) of Lacombe; her sister, Wynne Smereka of Delburne; and numerous family members and dear friends. She was predeceased by her father, Roy Reid and her brother, Tim Reid. A Come and Go visit with Fawn’s Family was held at the Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Fawn’s honor may be made directly to the Stollery Children’s Hospital at www.stollerykids.com.
