Mr. Gordon ‘Gord’ Donald Hemmelgarn of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in Red Deer Alberta. Gord was born April 25,1963 in Vancouver, British Columbia moments after his twin brother and lifelong friend Gregg.

He was raised in the Columbia Valley by Raymond and Elsie Hemmelgarn. Gord moved about, living in multiple places in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario. He mastered many trades along the way, butcher, truck driver, welder and more. Gord enrolled in many courses throughout the years always looking for and enjoying challenges.

Shortly after his 50th birthday, Gord was diagnosed with MS. Although the disease moved quickly throughout his body Gord kept his quick wit and gift of gab, ready with a quick smile and words of wisdom to share.
Gord is survived by his biological mother; Ada Mae (Joe), brother Gregg (Sandi), sisters Donna (Doug), Darlene (Dale), Leanne (Peter), Laura (John), and many nieces and nephews. Gord was predeceased by parents Raymond and Elsie Hemmelgarn and his brother Scotty.

A Celebration of Gord’s Life will be held at the Centre For Spiritual Living, 3, 6315 Horn Street, Red Deer Alberta on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to come together and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
