It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and friend John Hussey, on February 4, 2025, at the age of 61 years. John was born on December 23, 1963 to James Jr. and Hilda Florence Hussey in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland.
John joined the military at age 17. During his time in the military, he had many adventures and traveled around the world. While serving in the military, in 1982, John met the love of his life, Patricia Hussey in Halifax. John and Patricia had been married for thirty-eight years and went on to have one child, Nicole Hussey.
John was known for his kind, generous and humorous personality. He had the remarkable ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and have them feel welcomed. His favorite thing to do was to make people laugh. His smile and laugh were infectious and would light up the room. He brought joy to so many lives throughout his life, leaving a lasting impression to all who knew him. He had a strong connection with animals and cared affectionately for many family pets over the years. He was an amazing husband and father who loved his family very much.
In 2021 John retired and took great pride in landscaping and maintaining his home and yard. He was an avid hockey fan who loved watching the Edmonton Oilers whenever he had the chance. He enjoyed traveling and making new memories with his friends and family as well as spoiling his cat, Sal.
John was predeceased by his father James Jr. and mother Hilda Hussey, brothers Wayne (Kim) and Sean (Kim) Hussey. He is survived by his wife Patricia, his daughter Nicole, his brother Glen (Caroline) and sister Sherry Hussey, Kimberly Ettel and many nieces and nephews.
His love for his family will be forever imprinted on our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Whisker Rescue, Box 27138, Red Deer, AB T4N 6X8 an animal rescue John loved to support.
