It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Wanda Joyce Hardy, who passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the age of 64 years. Born on June 5, 1962, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Wanda was the beloved daughter of the late Lorraine and Ernest Hardy. Although she made her home in Alberta, Nova Scotia always held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every opportunity to return home to visit family. From an early age, Wanda had a deep love for animals and was never without a pet she adored, whose companionship brought her comfort and joy throughout her life. Wanda is lovingly remembered by her partner, Tony; her children, Ernie, Wesley, Ashley, Misty (Phong), and Wes (Felicia); and her beloved grandchildren, Nic, Noah, Isaiah, Nathan, Ava, Summer, Emma, Cayden, Norah, and Ellie, who were the light of her life and her greatest source of pride. She is also survived by her sister, Karen.
Wanda was known for her enthusiastic spirit, her kindness, and her warm, infectious personality. She would do anything for anyone, never hesitating to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement. Her warmth, generosity, and genuine care for others touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She also had a well-known love for anything cow print, a small but memorable part of who she was that will always bring a smile to the faces of her family and friends. And if Wanda called you “sweetie,” you knew you were cared for. It was one of the many little ways she made everyone feel loved and welcome. Family was the center of Wanda’s world. She loved deeply and wholeheartedly, cherishing every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. She celebrated their accomplishments, shared in their joys, and created memories that her family will hold close forever. Whether at home in Alberta or visiting loved ones in Nova Scotia, Wanda’s happiest moments were those spent surrounded by family.
The Hardy family also wishes to acknowledge the heartbreaking loss of Wanda’s brother, Roy, who passed away just one week after Wanda. Though they left this world only days apart, they will forever be remembered together with love. Wanda’s legacy is one of love, kindness, compassion, and selflessness. Her generous spirit, infectious enthusiasm, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. In accordance with Wanda’s wishes, no funeral will be held. A Celebration of Life will take place on August 1, 2026, in honor of both Wanda and her brother, Roy, in Nova Scotia.
