It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Kevin Joseph Connelly of Red Deer, Alberta at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the age of 62 years. Kevin was born in Calgary, Alberta on August 13, 1960, to Tony and Eileen Connelly. In 1985, Kevin married the love of his life, Vivian, and together they made Red Deer their home. Kevin had a passion for mowing grass and keeping it as green as the John Deere tractors he drove. Kevin balanced this along with working as a Parts Technician in the Oilfield Industry, a job he truly loved. Kevin loved all sweets and treats, coming up with creative/innovative solutions to fix things – even if they weren’t broken, loud music, and his boat – when it worked. Kevin was an advocate for the Parkinson’s Association of Alberta and was always willing to help out a neighbor. Jesus has gained an incredible Mr. Fix-it, and the absolute best ice cream buddy. Dad, it was such a blessing to figure it out together. Kevin will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Vivian; his children, Krista (Quintin) and Brent (Carly); his special granddaughter, Oaklyn and his two fur babies, Dixie and Rolo. He will also be sadly missed by his mother, Eileen; his brothers, Dennis, Michael (Van), Kelly; his sister, Patricia (Don) and numerous family members and dear friends. Kevin was predeceased by his father, Tony; his brother, Tony Jr.; his in-laws, Dan and Eileen Ray; and his sister-in-law, Linda. A Memorial Service was held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67A Street (Taylor Drive) Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Please dress casually, as Kevin would have liked.
