Lori was born on March 26, 1959 to Donald and Lavina Wearmouth in Calgary, Alberta. Growing up, she was always surrounded by friends and thrived in academics and sports. She developed an affinity for the outdoors and fitness early on. Lori started her career downtown Calgary, working for a data processing company for seven years before settling down with her husband at the time, Danny, in Olds in the early 1980s. Lori had three babies and was absolutely wired for motherhood – she poured her heart into raising and cherishing her kids. Her nurturing spirit and guidance created a space for them to grow and succeed in their own ways, which made her proud. Lori coached baseball, managed hockey teams, volunteered at the schools, led dryland training, bootcamps, and was a staple in the community. She was a Personal Fitness Trainer and a natural cheerleader in every sense – showing up and supporting her community and her family so consistently and so beautifully throughout her life. Living on an acreage for 30 years and being closely connected to nature was a large part of Lori’s identity. She loved hiking, running, travelling, and being with her dogs more than anything. She was kind, energetic, generous, fun, and intelligent. Lori’s heart was big, and she had a special way of supporting her friends from all walks of life. Anyone who knew Lori shares the same sentiment – she genuinely cared. She always knew what people needed and celebrated them for exactly who they were. Lori was the ultimate “Grammie”—her grandbabies adored her, and Lori’s love for them was indescribable. Toward the end of her life, she was selfless and stoic, staying positive despite having to deal with physical and mental health challenges that eventually became insurmountable to her. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and all that knew her. Lori is survived by her three children, Tyler (Claire), Jay (Dale), and Stacey (Adam); sister Jody; her seven grandchildren Ryatt, Bailey, Charlie, Rigden, Jack, Mara, and Jett. Lori lived her days in fullness and would want to be remembered as someone who relished the simple things in life – a beautiful sunset, a long run, or an A&W burger. A celebration of life Open House will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. at The Olds College Alumni Centre. A short program will commence at 2:30 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Huntington’s Society of Canada.
