Kerry James Chow passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at the age of 64 years.
Kerry was born to James ‘Jim’ Chow and Kathryn Hirsche in Lethbridge, Alberta on April 3, 1959. He was blessed to be raised by Jim and Judy Chow in Lethbridge. He was always grateful to have two mothers, and he loved his parents dearly. His fondest memories as a young child were spending time with his father, who taught him to ride motorcycles at an early age. He also loved his adventures with his grandmother, May Chow-Leong, prior to her passing.
Kerry met Brenda Durant in 1984 at a social function for the Financial Institution they both started their careers at. They married on August 27, 1988, and they raised two beautiful girls, Ashley Marie and Kristen Rose. They have two precious granddaughters, Shayla Rose and Aria Aaliyah Rose. Kerry’s wife, daughters and granddaughters were his pride and joy, and he was always there whenever they needed him.
Kerry’s family spent many occasions with the Durant family playing cards, attending dances, and sharing lots of laughter. He always considered Ray and Carol Durant, as well as Brenda’s brothers, sister, and their children as his family.
Kerry began his career with the Royal Bank of Canada in February, 1986. He held roles as a personal banker, full-service Branch Manager, Risk Advisor, and finished his career in Commercial Banking. He worked in Edmonton, Drayton Valley, Calgary, Lacombe, and retired in Red Deer effective January 31, 2023, after almost thirty-seven years.
He will be dearly missed as the most loving, caring, and selfless man that we have had the honor of enjoying life with. His memory will carry on in all of us.
Kerry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Brenda, his daughters, Ashley and Kristen, and his granddaughters, Shayla and Aria.
