Mrs. Roberta ‘Fern’ Remus McEwen of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at the University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the age of 67 years. Fern was born in Olds, Alberta on January 6, 1958, and was raised in Sundre, Alberta. Fern worked many years prior to her retirement as the Community Service Worker at the Salvation Army Church in Red Deer, Alberta. During her retirement, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and children. She loved to bake and crochet. Fern will be very deeply missed by all her devoted family and dear friends. Fern will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Darcy Remus of Red Deer, Christal (Mike) Remus of Valemount, British Columbia and Raeleen (Leeroy) Materman of Penhold, Alberta; and her four grandsons, whom she loved and adored, Xavier (Nakosha) Materman, Noah Materman, and Nicholas and Lucas Remus. Fern was predeceased by the love of her life, Robert Remus; and her parents, Euart and Alma McEwen.
