It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Darlene Lea Benner of Innisfail, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the age of 69 years. Surrounded by the love of her family, Darlene spent her final moments in palliative care at the Red Deer Regional Health Centre after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. By her side were her beloved husband, Brian; her cherished daughters, Tamara, Tawnya (Ally), and Lindsey (Cody); her twin sister, Dianna (Kim), who held her hand until the very end; and her nieces, Patricia (Jonarey) and Laurina (Courtney).

Darlene was a devoted wife, loving mother, treasured sister, proud grandmother to Henry and Clark, and a caring auntie to her nephew, Rylan. She will be remembered for her quick wit, her deep love of birds, and the remarkable strength and grace she carried throughout her life.

Born in Didsbury, Alberta, on April 25, 1957. Darlene found joy in life’s simple blessings and shared that joy generously with everyone around her. Her kindness, wisdom, compassion, and unwavering love left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Darlene will be deeply missed and forever lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
