It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mr. Wade Lawrence Klein, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, in Red Deer, Alberta on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the age of 68 years. Wade was born on January 4, 1957, in Galahad, Alberta. Wade was a loving husband, selfless father, caring brother, and a loyal friend. He was known for his sense of humour; gentle demeanour and he could fix anything. He generously helped family and friends and was a steady and reliable presence to all he knew. Wade most enjoyed puttering in his garage, the outdoors, and camping with those he loved – especially at Boss Hill. He was a family man to the core. Wade was an excellent Heavy Duty Mechanic and was deeply respected by his coworkers. Living in Castor, he spent the majority of his career working at the Paintearth Mine. Wade and Cheryl also took on the adventure of restaurant ownership and developed strong community ties through this endeavor. After retiring, he enjoyed his time working (and socializing) at the Castor Home Hardware. Wade will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Cheryl; his children, Derek (Kim) Klein, Karla (Grant) Allen, Jack Wentzel, and Tamara (Neil) Hawthorne; and his seven grandchildren, Taylor Seaba, Addison and Kailey Allen, and Graydon, Elise, Chelsea and Keira Klein. He will also be sadly missed by his siblings, Donna Peterson, Eric Klein, Diane Spooner and their families, and of course, his cat companion, Armin. Wade was predeceased by his brother, Warren Klein and his parents, Lawrence and Ilene Klein. A Memorial Service was held at Christ-King Catholic Church, 4916 – 54 Street, Stettler, Alberta on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. If desired, in lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Wade’s honor may be made directly to STARS at www.stars.ca or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation at www.heartandstroke.ca. Wade will live on, forever in our hearts. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
