It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gilles Comeau of Red Deer, Alberta at his home on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at the age of 66 years. Gilles was born on September 9, 1956 at Bathurst, New Brunswick the seventh of eight children to his parents, Leopold and Evelyne Comeau. Gilles briefly joined the army in his younger years. He raised two daughters on his own and lived in many different places before finally settling down and making his home in Red Deer, Alberta. Gilles met his wife, Sherrel at a singles dance and the two were married in 2008. Gilles owned a handyman business that he called Father and Daughters Handyman Service where he worked alongside his two daughters. Gilles suffered lengthy health issues prior to his passing but the Lord watched over him and Gilles was a fighter throughout his illnesses. His family will hold many great memories close to their hearts of Gilles. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of almost fifteen years, Sherrel Comeau, his daughters, Therese (Jeff) Vachon and Tammy (Dave) Dykens, his step-son, Corey LaRose, his three grandchildren, Sebastien, Danika and Ethan, his great grandchild, Matthieu, his brothers, Donald, Reginald and Emilien, and his sisters, Marieanne and Noella. Gilles was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Carmella, and his brother, Roland. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
