Judith Maire Bellamy passed away at the Sundre Hospital July 23, 2021 at the age of 66 years. She was born March 2, 1955 in Calgary to Clifford and Maryanne Sabin and raised on their family farm at Cochrane loving all animals, especially horses. Judy attended Cochrane High School and met the love of her life Mac Bellamy while he was working on a ranch near Cochrane. They married and moved to Cremona on a farm building a wonderful life together for 48 years raising two sons Brian and Jeffrey. Mac worked on the road crews for the County of Mountain View for all their married life while Judy was kept busy managing cows and their home. She would have lists ready for jobs to be done on the weekends, picking up parts and supplies for the farm. Judy took an AI course at the Olds College and for several years selected the genetic lines for their heifers and tried AI herself. A true testament to their cow herd today. She raised wonderful gardens and flowers. Judy was an active member of the community serving on the Library Board, Hall Board, Community Chest canvassing, Jackson Women’s Institute then Parkhills Women’s Guild for 34 years. She worked at Cremona Post Office for many years as well. Never idle, she crocheted many afghans and baby blankets for family and friends. Family was the most important thing in her life. Always organized, she loved the big family dinners and reunions, had gifts and cards selected and wrapped early. She was a devoted wife, mother and super grandmother. She had special sleepovers for all the grandkids with game and movie nights which they will always cherish. In recent years, the whole family enjoyed taking their antique tractors to tractor pulls and rallies. Judy faced her cancer with courage, dignity, grace and stated “It is what it is”. Judy will be lovingly remembered by her soulmate, Mac; sons Brian (Laurie), Jeff (Julie); grandchildren Travis, Grace, Sam, Kori, Tyler and Kaylie; as well as numerous other family members and her community. The family would like to thank all the family, friends and the community for their caring thoughts and support. Also, the doctors and nurses at the Sundre Hospital and Homecare for their compassionate care given to Judy. At Judy’s request, a private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance.
