Gail Susan McCoy passed away peacefully at the Innisfail Health Care Centre on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the age of 69 years. Gail was born in Brantford, Ontario on August 16, 1954. She will be lovingly remembered by her stepchildren, Teena (Sonny) Montgomery, Cody (Crystal) Carnahan and Robert Carnahan, her six grandchildren and two great grandchildren along with her sister, Nancy and her brother, Robin as well as numerous friends. Gail was predeceased by her loving common law husband of thirty-seven years, Robert Carnahan in 2023 and her sisters, Catherine, Donna and Allison and her parents William and Victoria. Gail was a fighter and was known for her positive attitude and her love for traveling. She worked at Bowden Penitentiary for many years and loved visiting with her co-workers and reminiscing about all the fun times. After retiring from the Penitentiary, she decided she wasn’t yet ready to leave the work force and joined the team at the Red Deer Costco where she made a few more friends to chat and laugh with. Gail’s biggest attribute was always keeping a positive attitude! In keeping with Gail’s wishes, there will be no formal service. If friends so desire, Memorial Donations in Gail’s honor can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
