Ross was the fourth child born on September 1, 1953 to Earl and Doris Fuller. He grew up on a farm and began school in a one room school house with his siblings. There was never a dull moment growing up on the family farm. He learned how things worked, how to fix things, and learned the value of hard work. Ross’s Dad, Earl was a quiet man but had a profound impact on Ross’s life from an early age and the father son relationship continued. As a teen Ross worked for many neighbours being a farm helper during the busy farming seasons. At a young age, he was married and had 2 children Jen & Jeremy. In 1977 his life changed as he found and embraced the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His faith was an ongoing source of direction and foundational to his life choices. Ross began working at America Motors Corporation when he was 19 years old. He provided well for his family and retired in 2000 at 49 years old. On July 2, 1982 in the Washington DC temple Ross married his eternal companion Susan. They began their family of 6 children. Ross and Susan raised their children in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Ross was always willing to serve and help everyone and anyone. He served in various callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but his favourite was always working with the youth. In 1994, Ross returned to farm life and bought a hobby farm of 100 acres. There were many ‘critters’ each of his children could train and provided valuable experiences for growth, hard work and resilience. On this farm he also built his first house with the help of his brother Bert and ‘help’ of his children.
With his early retirement from the automobile industry Ross became a farmer. He worked the fields, raised cattle, cultivated and sold hay and other farming ventures. In 2011 Ross and Susan bought another piece of property, downsizing to only 88 acres with a stream. Ross built a second house for their retirement, with Susan” holding the other end of the stick” they completed it together. Ross was always up for some fun, whether in field cars with his children and youth or riding fast motorcycles. He was always looking in the spring for the next motorcycle to buy and owned many in his lifetime. Ross loved being outside, he especially enjoyed playing soccer and running. As he faced health challenges he continued to be active as much as possible and focused on serving in various church callings. He served with Susan as Church Service Missionaries for 2 summers at the Thomas S. Monson Camp in Ontario. Ross and Susan loved serving together in the temple and served for 12 years as temple workers in the Toronto Ontario Temple. In 2022 Ross and Susan started a new adventure moving west and deciding to call Alberta home. This fulfilled his lifelong dream since a teenager of moving to Alberta. Ross took an interest in each person, valuing and spending time and helping others. He especially loved and looked forward to family time and had an abiding faith in the teaching, Families Can Be Together Forever. Ross will be missed dearly by family and friends.
