It is with great sadness that we announce that Mr. Marshall Spencer Smith passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the age of 69 years. He was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, and the family moved to Swift Current, Saskatchewan, in 1966, where he met and married his wife, Joanne. The two married in 1972 and were married for almost fifty years. They moved back to Lethbridge, Alberta in 1974; where he worked as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, in Farm Equipment Sales, and as the owner of various Hardware Stores. In 1991, the family moved to Red Deer, Alberta, where he owned and operated an Office Equipment Business with Joanne. He retired in 2015, when they sold the business. Never one to sit still long, he returned to the world of work to do maintenance at his son’s business, helping everyone there. Marshall enjoyed spending time with friends and family. A man of many talents, and as an avid car enthusiast, he loved working on garage projects and attending car shows. Marshall will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joanne, his sons, Ryan (Janis) and Brad (Rebecca), and his four grandchildren, Keira, Avery, Casey and Lauren, his father, Gerry, and his sister, Lorna (Dwight). Marshall was predeceased by his mother, Olga. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held at the house on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. If desired, in lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
