Mr. Daniel Edward ‘Dan’ McKenna of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully, at his home, on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the age of 71 years. Dan passed away on his own terms, in his sleep, with his wife by his side. Dan will be missed by all his family and friends, and all of the charities that have known him as “Casino Dan” over the past thirty-two years.
The family would like to thank all the charities, family, friends, and community in his final months for the donations helping him stay comfortable in his home until his passing. We also extend this thanks to the Home Care Team, family and friends that took time out of their day to assist in his day-to-day care. With special thanks to his sister, Bev, and his friends, Brenda Grande and Keith Brooker. Bev and Keith made it possible for Dan to get down to the casino, where so many of his colleagues and volunteers over the years were able to have a happy moment with him.
Dan will be lovingly remembered by wife, Beverly Kokotailo; his daughter, Angela McKenna; his three stepsons, Calvin (Lisa) Kokotailo, Cory (Carla) Kokotailo, and Clayton (Chantelle) Kokotailo; and his four grandchildren, Apryl, Julliet, Dom and Eve. Dan will also be sadly missed by his brothers, Terrance, Patrick (Christine), Peter (Karen), Lorne (Doris), Jack, and Chuck (Lorna); and his sisters, Barbara (Ralph) Coffit, Bev (Shane) Bennett, and Beth (Darell) Mathison.
