Beverly ‘Lorraine’ Munroe of Red Deer, Alberta (formerly Cape Breton, Nova Scotia) passed away, with her family by her side, on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the age of 70 years. Lorraine was born and raised in Canso, Nova Scotia. She worked at the Town Hall until 1988, when she moved with her family to Sydney, Nova Scotia. There, she worked at many places making lots of friends along the way. By 2005, she packed her treasures and headed west to be closer to her two children. Red Deer, Alberta is where she lived for her final years. In that time, she made many great friends, enjoyed Montreal Canadiens Hockey Games, long drives with Tim Horton’s coffee, and spending time with her family and friends around bonfires or having a game of cards with friends. In her quiet time, she crocheted baby items for friends or Hospital preemies. Lorraine was always around with a helping hand or an ear to listen; she was loved by all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed. You will forever be in our hearts and memories. Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Alisa D. Munroe, and her son, Jonathan R. Munroe. She will also be sadly missed by her two nephews. Lorraine was predeceased by her ex-husband, George Munroe, her brothers, Ronald Richard George and Calvin Donald George and her parents, Donald and Ethel (nee Bennett) George. A Celebration of Lorraine’s Life was held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each, I noticed footprints
in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was only one.
During the low period of my life, I could see only one set of footprints,
so I said, “ You promised me, Lord, that you would walk with me always. Why when I have needed you most, you have not been there for me?” The Lord replied, “The times when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, that is when I carried you.”
