1952 ~ Barbara Lynn Bell ~ 2024 "Special thanks to all of Barb’s wonderful friends that have shared laughs and tears all while giving her purpose in these final two years. Your care and support meant the world to her (even if she would never say it out loud)."

Barb spent 50 supportive, loving years with her husband Tom until his passing in 2022. In their time together they raised two boys, Sean and Stephen. While Tom advanced his career in Oil and Gas, Barb was the glue that saw the family move from Edmonton to Calgary and eventually Olds, Alberta.
Barb was creative, stubborn, and decisive. She was a woman that was always on the go, doing, learning, and raising a family at the same time. After high school, she became a barber. While in Calgary, she became an entrepreneur, operating Kreative Korner Ceramics and Framed Art. During this period of time, she also learned Braille which became a life-long passion and occupation. She transcribed books and textbooks into Braille for the Government of Alberta and BC right up until her passing.
When the family transferred to Olds in 1990, Barb needed a new outlet. She began to build houses. She started with a duplex, built acreages, single-family homes, and finally, her (and Tom’s) final residence.
Not all of Barb’s endeavours were occupations. She learned stained glass, wood-working, and some turf management (that would be the influence of Olds College being right next door). Living in Olds also provided Barb with an opportunity to learn golf. This became a passion over the last 20 years of her life.
Barb is survived by her son Sean (Marni) and two wonderful grandsons (Declan and Cohen). She leaves her brother Bill (Gail), Bob (Jo) as well as many nieces and nephews. Barb was predeceased by her son, Stephen, husband, Tom, and her parents Bill and Vera.
Special thanks to all of Barb’s wonderful friends that have shared laughs and tears all while giving her purpose in these final two years. Your care and support meant the world to her (even if she would never say it out loud).
