Ms. Cresencia ‘Cris’ Dumayas Batara passed away, peacefully at home, in Red Deer on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the age of 69 years. Chris was born on November 11, 1951 at the Philippines. She was a very loving, compassionate and kind hearted lady. She was a friend to all; and loved cooking, taking food and sharing with others. She was very hardworking and will be remembered for her compassion to all her clients, while working for Parkland Class. Chris truly loved all her coworkers and the close friends she made. Her faith in the Lord kept her strong. Her faith in the Lord kept her going and she did not give up; it carried her through to her last breath. Chris accepted life’s terms as they were given to her, by the Lord and Savior of her life. She was married to Rogelio Malabuet Batara and they were blessed with three children, her son, Ian (Evelyn) Batara of the Philippines; her daughters, Jhonalyn (Melvin) Padayao of the Philippines, and Sheila Marie (Romeo Jr.) Tupil of British Columbia and her three grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Rose (Cecil) Lernowich of Red Deer, Alberta, and Flora (Don) Nast of Red Deer, Alberta. Cris will also be lovingly remembered by her family, friends, coworkers, and her best friend Medy Orani. A Private Family Service will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, Red Deer, Alberta.
