Thomas George Ross Bell
April 16, 1951 – April 19, 2022
Tom emigrated from England at two years of age to live in Edmonton and Yellowknife. After high school Tom attended Royal Roads Military College and quickly decided that was not the life for him. He attended the University of Alberta for a year but in 1970 he couldn’t turn down a job offer at Interprovincial Pipeline. He got married in 1972 and started raising a family but managed to take online courses toward his degree. He changed jobs and moved his family, now two sons larger, to Calgary in 1978, he continued his online studies and finally took a six month leave of absence from work to obtain his degree in Business Administration. An opportunity in 1990 to move to Olds with Rangeland Pipeline, where the whole family settled in and made Olds their home. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara; his son Sean (Marni) and two wonderful grandsons, Declan and Cohen. He also leaves his brothers; Charlie (Betty), John (Lolita); his sister, Finola, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his son, Stephen, and his parents, George and Barbara Bell. Special thanks to the Olds Acute Care unit for their excellent care and a special thanks to Dr. Rodych for his extra concern and attention. At Tom’s request there will be no service and in lieu of flowers donations may be made to The MS Society or the Central Alberta Cancer Foundation if you so desire.
