It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ms. Linda Joyce Northcott of Lacombe, Alberta at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Red Deer, Alberta, on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the age of 74 years. Linda was born on April 14, 1950, in Coronation, Alberta, and was the second child of Herbert and Helen Finkbeiner. She attended Grades One to Nine at the Veteran School and then went to Coronation High School. Linda then moved to Edmonton to attend Hairdressing School. She remained and worked in Edmonton for a few years. Eventually, she moved to Alix, Alberta with her daughter, Diana, and opened her own beauty salon. Linda married Les Northcott in 1974, and a son, Stacey was added to the family. Linda resided in Clive, Alberta until she moved to Lacombe, where she worked at Woolworths, until it closed. She then worked at Home Hardware for twenty-five years, until her retirement. Linda was known for her sense of humor, her laugh and “the look” if she disapproved. This look was there right up until her final days. She was spicy and stubborn and loved playing practical jokes on people. Linda enjoyed camping, fishing, watching old movies, listening to Elvis Presley songs/shows and her potted flowers. Linda will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Diana (Kent); her son, Stacey; her two granddaughters, Eryn (Josh) and Amanda; and her sister, Debbie Herbert (Robert); as well as her many nieces, nephews, and friends. Linda was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Helen; her brothers, Larry, Robert ‘Bob’; and her sister, Laura. A Private Family Interment will be held at a later date.
