It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ann Usciski (nee Berends), announces her passing at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the age of 73 years. Ann was born on May 11, 1950, in Surabaya, Indonesia. Ann was the middle of eleven children of Herman and Rena Berends. Ann immigrated to Calgary, Alberta in 1968 from the Netherlands. Shortly after immigrating to Calgary, Ann met the love of her life, Douglas Usciski. The couple married in 1971, and eventually settled on their farm near Pine Lake, Alberta to raise their five children. Ann will be lovingly remembered by her husband Doug; and their five children, Susan Lynn (Todd), Jennifer (Scott), Benny (Carly), Amanda (Jeramia), and Dustin (Shyann), along with eleven grandchildren. Ann will also be fondly remembered by her sisters, Diane (Andre) and Grace; her sister-in-laws, Trudy and Enith; her brothers, Robert, Jimmy and Eugene; her brother-in-law, Cor, and many nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her parents, Herman and Rena; her sisters, Sylvia and Hedy; and her brothers, George, Raymond and Martin. At Ann’s request, no service will be held at this time.
