1949 ~ Wendy Elaine Sorensen ~ 2021 "She will be deeply missed!"

Wendy was born in Didsbury on June 24, 1949 and spent most of her childhood in Wanham, Alberta. She moved to Didsbury in 1964 and graduated from D.H.S. in 1967. Wendy married Gordon Sorensen and they had their first son, Ron in 1967 and their second son, Al in 1970. Wendy worked for many local businesses over the years making lots of friends that she remained in touch with. Eventually she retired from the business life to chase new hobbies. First raising dogs, but soon found her passion was Bengal Cats. She was one of the first breeders in Alberta and got to attend many shows in Alberta and the US. Soon there after she began to collect antiques and also loved a good garage sale. Wendy loved her family and friends. She always enjoyed a good laugh after cooking a big meal. She was never afraid to try something new whether it was a new recipe or a new adventure. Wendy was battling in 2018 from C.O.P.D. and was diagnosed with cancer in the fall of 2020. She passed away peacefully at the Didsbury Hospital on August 5, 2021 at 72 years. She will be deeply missed! Wendy is survived by her husband Gordon of 54 years; sons Ron (Vikki) and Al; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother Doug (Bonnie) Blois and sisters Diane Conely and Debbie Blois. She was predeceased by her parents Al and Bernice Blois; sister Carol Desgagne and brother-in-law Bill Conely. In keeping with Wendy’s wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation. Heartland Funeral Services Ltd., Didsbury entrusted with arrangements. 403-335-4773
