Ms. Catherine ‘Cathy’ Anne LaLancette passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the age of 75 years. Cathy was born on September 25, 1949 at Canora, Saskatchewan to Stanley and Isabel Sokoloski. Her family moved to British Columbia when Cathy was young, and she was raised in Vancouver, where she attended Templeton Secondary School. Cathy later moved around British Columbia living in Kamloops, and Squamish. In 1983, Cathy moved with her young family to Sylvan Lake, Alberta. In the early 1990’s, Cathy moved to Red Deer, where she resided for the remainder of her life. Cathy worked as a bookkeeper and in other clerical roles for many years. Cathy will be remembered as a friend, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and aunt. Cathy, we are saddened by your loss. Cathy will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Glen David LaLancette and Dan LaLancette; her grandchildren, Austin, Thomas, and Samuel. She will also be sadly missed by her brother, Bill Sokoloski; as well as other family members and dear friends. A Funeral Service will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Cathy’s honor may be made directly to the Central Alberta Women’s Emergency Shelter at www.cawes.com. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. Interment will be held at the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta at a later date.
