1949 – 2025
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Mrs. Joan Shaw of Red Deer, Alberta, on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the age of 75 years. Joan was born at Grace Hospital, Calgary, Alberta, and moved to Lethbridge at the age of three. She spent her childhood playing in her favourite place down on the grounds of Indian Battle Park, near the river, where she had her fondest memories growing up. As an adult, Joan moved to Kelowna, British Columbia, where she spent many years working at the local newspaper while raising her son, Vincent Shaw (Yvonne). After the passing of her husband, Ron Armstrong, Joan moved back to Alberta to be closer to her family. Joan will be deeply missed by many as she was a great wife, mother and friend to the many that knew her. Joan was always an animal lover and knew that one day her beloved pets would be waiting for her on the other side, along with other family and friends that had passed before her. She will be sadly missed. There will be no service at her request. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
