It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Larry Dewayne McLean of Red Deer, Alberta on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at the age of 72 years. Larry was born and grew up in Olds, Alberta, where he eventually met the love of his life, Glenda. They were married for over fifty-one years and were blessed with three wonderful children; Nadine, Michael and Abby. Larry always worked hard at everything he did and after years of hard work and dedication, he and his business partner established a successful Welding Supply Business. His generosity and loyalty to his family and friends was insurmountable; and he had an infectious personality that made everyone smile. Larry was a devoted and loving husband, father, papa and friend. Some of his greatest treasures were his grandchildren; Madison, Mason, Brooklyn, Hunter and Christopher. Larry and Glenda loved to travel. They were very fortunate to have taken many trips together over the years, and were able to see the world. They loved nothing more than spending time with their family at their acreage, out near Sundre. It was Larry’s “happy place” and the whole family holds many wonderful memories of their time spent there together. They also enjoyed spending many winters in Chandler, Arizona. Larry will be lovingly remembered by his best friend and loving wife, Glenda, his three cherished children; Nadine McLean-Elder, Michael McLean, and Abby McLean, his five grandchildren; Madison, Mason, Brooklyn and Hunter and Christopher. He will also be sadly missed by his brother, Jim (Darlene) McLean, his sisters, Elaine Fagan, Phyllis Rosenthal, Yvonne (Merle) Brown, Betty Askeland and Diane McLeaghn, his brothers-in-law, Calvin (Betty) Haw, Dennis (Donna) Haw and Dean Haw; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his mother, Stella, his father, James ‘Bud’ McLean, his mother and father in-law, Laura and Harvey Haw, a sister and brother in-law, Donna and Moon Marcino, and three brother’s in-law, Ron Askeland, Gordon Fagan and Lorne Rosenthal. A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at a later date. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
