Ivan John Wood, age 78, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 7, 2026, having lived a quiet life with simple pleasures. A true introvert at heart, Ivan never sought the spotlight. He found his peace in the quiet corners of life. He was a man of few words, but those few who knew him well, often became embroiled in lively discussions full of strong opinions. His home was his sanctuary, filled with the books he loved and the comfort of a familiar armchair. Ivan was an avid reader spending countless days lost in the pages of western novels. When he wasn’t immersed in a book, he could often be found at the dartboard in the local pub, chatting with friends

Ivan is predeceased by his parents, John Duncan Wood and Norma Margaret Green(nee Miller) and his cherished daughter, Robin Wood. He is survived by his daughter Heather Bainbridge (Brett) whom he often talked about with great pride. He also leaves behind his brothers Brian Wood (Josefina) and Craig Wood (Slavka), and his sister Wendy Witt (Peter). Uncle Ivan will be remembered by eight nieces and nephews and their families, and fondly remembered by his friend Audrey. He shared happy memories with many cousins now scattered across North America.

May his quiet spirit stay in the hearts of those who knew him best.

A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
