Following a courageous battle with cancer, Clinton Brent Cassin of Sundre, Alberta, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the age of 77 years.
While Clint grew up in Dauphin and Brandon, Manitoba, he completed his National Electrical Journeyman Certification and then worked for INCO in Thompson, Manitoba. In 1977, Clint moved to Fort McMurray, Alberta, and started his own electrical company, Casca Electric Ltd. — and he never looked back.
At its peak, Casca Electric employed 1,600 people and maintained an exemplary workplace safety record. Clint’s love for work, adventure, and people led his entrepreneurship down many different paths, including hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, bingo halls, seniors’ housing complexes across Alberta, and land development. Clint and his wife Karma moved to the Sundre area, where they lived for 30 wonderful years. Although Clint never retired, he spent time doing the things he loved most: fishing, boating, flying, travelling, and making new friendships. He especially enjoyed hunting trips around St. Lazare, Manitoba, with his brother Larry and close friends.
Clint genuinely impacted the people who knew him by sharing his knowledge, uplifting those around him, and leading by example. Clint will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 40 years, Karma Cassin; daughter Camara Cassin (Cody Horne), and grandchildren Solara Wild, Perseus Potts, and Oakley Horne of Nelson, British Columbia; son Christopher Cassin (Jill), and granddaughter Morgan Jones of Edmonton, Alberta; brother Larry Cassin (Barb) of Dauphin, Manitoba; niece Jamie Grouette (Ken) of Dauphin, Manitoba; great-nephews Kyan and Zach Grouette of Brandon, Manitoba; niece Stacey Beeston of Brandon, Manitoba; and great-nephews Cailen and Luka Beeston, and great-niece Greer Beeston of Brandon, Manitoba. He will also be remembered by numerous close friends and associates.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, John Nelson Cassin and Evelyn Emma Archille Cassin (Mostmans), and granddaughter Anaya Cassin-Potts.
As Clint often said, “It’s all good.”
Rest with the angels.
