1947 ~ Samuel Dwight Wilson ~ 2025 "In his memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Red Deer Hospice. His motto in life was simple but powerful: “Carry on.” Dwight always cared more for others than for himself. In honor of his life, have a game of golf, share a laugh, and carry on—as he would have wanted."

1947 – 2025
Samuel Dwight Wilson of Red Deer passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospice on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 77, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dwight lived a full and hardworking life. He worked in construction and at Deerhome after earning his journeyman cook’s certificate. Over the years, he held various roles, including with Alpha Milk, as a self-employed mobile home hauler, and later at Westform Metals. Dwight will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Linda; his sister, Kari; and his brother, Terry. He leaves behind his two sons, Shaun (and his significant other, Stasha) and Lane (and his significant other, Ashley), as well as four cherished grandchildren: Kalisha, Belle, Jett, and Chase. He was predeceased by his mother, Alice; his father, Sam; his sister, Wendy; and his brothers, Neil and Frankie. A loving father and grandfather, Dwight was known for his sharp wit, great sense of humor, and generous heart. He was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, Edmonton Oilers, and Edmonton Elks. Dwight valued the connections he shared with many friends and neighbors, often enjoying heartfelt conversations with Janet Murphy, Irvin Wilibnisky, Terry Townsend, Bruce Shippelt, Chris Sande, Clarence Bylsma, A. Otteson, and many others. As per Dwight’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. In his memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Red Deer Hospice.
