Mr. Paul Cormac O’Brien passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the age of 79 years. Paul was born in St. John, New Brunswick, on March 9, 1947. He was one of fifteen children. As a young adult, Paul moved with his family to Aldergrove, British Columbia, until he moved to Prince George, where he met Janice in 1969. Paul and Janice were married on August 29, 1970, and together they had five children. Paul spent the first half of his career working in construction, which brought them to Alberta in 1976. They settled in Red Deer in 1982. For the second half of his career, Paul hung up the tool belt for a job in estimating/purchasing for a welding company. Paul knew many people in the trades. Paul loved hunting, spending time in the RV, and met many new friends through square dancing, and the Red Deer Fish and Game Association. Paul and Janice spent numerous weeks in the motor home going here, there, and everywhere.

Paul is lovingly remembered by his wife, Janice; son, Michael; daughters, Tamara (Corey) Stuart, Gina O’Brien (Jason Allen), Cara (Kevin) Joyce, Megan (Jonathan) Wenger; grandchildren, Haley, Ethan, Patrick, Lucy, Connor, Kaitlin, and Julianna; five brothers; and three sisters. Paul rejoins his parents, Arthur and Edna; and six of his siblings.
