Ken Heck was born to Peter and Marie Heck April 22, 1947, in Provost, Alberta, and passed away on June 2, 2022 in Sundre, Alberta at the age of 75 years. Ken was predeceased by his parents Pete (1984) and Marie (1990), and his sister Gloria (2004).
He started high school in Whitecourt, Alberta and finished in Red Deer, Alberta. He started his secondary education in Edmonton at the University of Alberta and finalized his secondary education at NAIT with earning his steam tickets. Ken had a love of learning, and this was only the beginning of the wealth of knowledge he obtained throughout his lifetime.
Ken and Lynne met in Red Deer and were married in Sundre, Alberta in 1969. The adventures continued while in Fox Creek with Ken working at the gas plant. Then they headed north to Norman Wells, NWT before settling on the farm at Eagle Hill in 1972. He worked at the Harmattan Gas Plant until retirement from his day job. Ken then kept busy with a contract position, farming, running successfully for County Councilor and obtaining two patents within the last few years.
Ken is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lynne, their children and families, daughter Stacey Reschke (Corey Reschke) of Hudson Hope, B.C.; and Shane Heck (Nicki Heck) of New Caney, Texas; and two grandchildren Zury Reschke and Cassie Reschke of Hudson Hope, his brother Bob Heck, Toronto, Ontario, as well as numerous nieces and nephews that were dear to his heart.
The funeral will be Thursday, June 9, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Sundre, Alberta. Internment at the Eagle Hill Cemetery to follow. Fellowship at 1:00 p.m. at the Eagle Hill Memorial Community Center.
The family welcomes donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta or the Alberta Cancer Foundation as an expression of sympathy instead of flowers.
