Mr. Robert ‘Bob’ Michael Zemlak long time resident of Eckville, Alberta passed away suddenly at Calgary, Alberta on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the age of 76 years. Bob was born in Lestock, Saskatchewan to Alice and Paul Zemlak on June 17, 1946. He attended Grade School in Aylsham and Carrot River, Saskatchewan. He started his early career with the Saskatchewan Department of Highways surveying many new infrastructure projects across Northeastern Saskatchewan. Bob later married and settled in Nipawin, Saskatchewan in 1967, and raised three boys, Warren (1969), Kyle (1971) and Kean (1974). It was during this time that Bob found his true passion for sales and building long term relationships. His sales career started with Verklan Motors Ford in Nipawin, where he later moved on to farm machinery and JI Case. Bob followed the Case, and later, Case International brand to North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Killarney, Manitoba, Red Deer, Alberta, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta and ultimately, his home in Eckville with Kasha Farm Supplies in 1994. Bob was often recognized for achieving milestones in sales results. It was in the Eckville area that Bob reignited his passion for medium draft horses and the Canadian draft breed. You would often see Bob driving his favorite team of horses, either pulling a democrat in the summer, or one of his sleighs in the winter. Almost always loaded with family or friends. It was no secret that Bob’s life was sales. He often said, his customers turned into a generation of friends, and he looked forward to each day and every interaction, even if he grumbled in between! Bob had a large personality that once you met him, you never forgot him – he will be forever missed by many relatives and friends. Bob loved his family, and will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Warren (Jodi), Kyle (Shannon), and Kean (Andrinne), his eight grandchildren, Brody, Sadie, Brittany, Piera, Bridjet, Ayla, Rheya, and Tristan and his seven great grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his three siblings, Donna, Darlene, and Jim.
