1946 – 2025

It is with deep sadness the family of Arne Montie Johre announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at the age of 79 years. Arne was born on February 14, 1946 in Vermilion, Alberta, to Tom (Torbjorne) and Maude Johre. He was the eldest of seven siblings raised on the Johre family farm in the County of Vermilion River, Alberta. Coming from very modest means, Arne grew up understanding the value of hard work and education, and the importance of family – all of which remained a strong presence throughout his life. He went above and beyond to ensure that he was able to provide for his family and to allow his children opportunities that had not been available to him. He was always there to help, without question, whenever family or friends needed him. When Arne wasn’t tinkering and working on his endless ‘projects’, he enjoyed many things such as travelling, camping, water activities, winter activities, and staying current on world events. Arne is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Dane (Lisa) and Heather; and granddaughter – the apple of his eye – Arwen. He is also survived by his brothers, Bryan (Lily), Mark (Debbie), Melvin (Una-Mae) and Dwayne; his sisters, Dianne (John) Braithwaite and Kjeryn (Charles) Allard; many nieces and nephews; and friends. Arne greatly loved all of his family and friends. At Arne’s request, no formal service will be held but an informal celebration of life will be held at a later date.
