Mrs. Shirley Ann Mersey of East Kemptville, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre, Calgary, Alberta on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the age of 76 years. Shirley’s beautiful smile and loving ways made everyone feel like family. Her love for animals was the same. She was the daughter of the late George and Evelyn (Dulong) Smith. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lisa (Kevin) Deveau of Red Deer, Alberta, her sister, Bren Eve (Diane) Smith of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, her brothers, Sonny (Cynthia) Smith of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and Paul (Barb) Smith of Waterloo, Ontario, her grandchildren, Samantha Usher of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and Keilah Deveau of Red Deer, Alberta, her nieces, Holly (Sheldon) Thomas, Annette (Mitchell) Rodgerson, Bailey (Trai) Smith and Shelby Smith and her nephews, Dwight (Debbie) Smith, Joey (Sarah) Smith and Alan Barry. Shirley was predeceased by her loving husband, David Charles Mersey and a son, John Charles Hines. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
