Mrs. Colleen Simpson, of Bowden, Alberta passed away at the Innisfail Health Care Centre on November 22, 2025 with her family by her side. Colleen was born in 1945 in Innisfail and raised on a farm near Bowden, with her parents Reg and Eva Howard, and her siblings John, Marilyn and Maureen.

Colleen married Dale Simpson on July 23, 1965 and together they raised two children, Jeff and Judy. Colleen worked at Scotiabank until retiring in 1993 after which she enjoyed winters down south.

A talented and devoted knitter, Colleen created countless blankets, sweaters, hats and mittens. In recent years she has lovingly made blankets and hats for newborns and donated to the Red Deer Health Centre.

Colleen is lovingly remembered by her husband Dale, children Jeff (Lynn) and Judy (Trevor), her grandchildren, Kayla (Brett), Amanda (Brad), Chase (Grace), Kole (Brielle) and four great grandchildren Blake, Nixon, Kallie and Kaiden, she is also survived by her sister, Marilyn (Marcel) her brothers-in-law, Jim (Roberta), Mel and Stan, her sister-in-law, Gail. She was pre-deceased by her parents Reg and Eva, her brother, John and her sister Maureen, her sisters-in-law, Agnes, Isobel and Marilyn and her brothers-in-law, John and Bill. She will be deeply missed by her family, extended family and friends. As per Colleen’s request, no formal service will be held. If friends so desire, Memorial Donations may be made to the Innisfail Health Care Fundraising Committee in support of securing new acute care beds for the hospital.
