PETERS, Bonnie
1945 – 2025
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mrs. Bonnie Peters (nee Bonham) of Delburne, Alberta on Friday, June 27, 2025 in Red Deer at the age of 79 years, a few weeks shy of her Eightieth birthday celebration. Bonnie was born in Stettler, Alberta the fifth child of Stewart and Millie Bonham and was raised in the Great Bend Area. She married Davey Peters in 1963 and moved to the Peters Farm to farm and raise their three daughters – Diane, Darlene, and Mary Ann. Bonnie moved to her new home in Delburne, Alberta, in 2014 – the house she loved and treasured and always had an open door for family and friends for dinners, coffee, and visiting. These past few years Bonnie cherished her company who stopped for coffee and a quick visit.
Over the years, Bonnie worked hard helping with farm duties, cooking meals, feeding crews, raising kids, supporting family activities with sports and horses as well as being an active volunteer in the Delburne and Woodlake communities even up till her passing. Specifically, Bonnie was very involved with the Friendship Group and the United Church. These gave her a real purpose in the community. Bonnie enjoyed watching her girls, grandchildren, and great grandchildren participate in their rodeos, gymkhanas, lacrosse, hockey, ringette, curling, and ball over the years. She hated missing out.
Bonnie will be loving remembered by her girls Diane, Darlene, and Mary Ann (Bryan); grandchildren Dustin (Julia), Davis (Jackie), Dawson (Ashlee) Reykdal, Mark, and Chantelle Zimmer, and Rylee Ryder as well as her great grandchildren – Ryder and McKinlee Zimmer, Hayden Zimmer, Harper Lee, Sorina and Rafael Reykdal. Bonnie will also be missed by her brothers LaVern (Shirley), Dale (Dona), Frank (Carol), Donnie (Norma) Bonham, her sisters Barb Sailer and Brenda (Ken) Johnson and her sister-in-law Lorna Bonham. Bonnie will also be missed by her Peters/McWhan families, Volker family, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her long-time friends in the Delburne community.
Bonnie was predeceased by her husband Dave Peters, her parents Stewart and Millie Bonham, her brother Jerry, brother-in-law Clarence, and grandson David Ryder.
