Mr. Peter ‘Doug’ Douglas Dedora, beloved husband of Mrs. Elaine Dedora, passed away peacefully, with family by his side, at the Innisfail Health Centre on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the age of 77 years. Doug was born on July 18, 1945 to George and Azilda Dedora at Radville, Saskatchewan. Doug and Elaine were married on February 3, 1968 in Tribune, Saskatchewan. Fifty-one of those years were spent in Alberta. He was raised on a farm in the Lake Alma area. Doug was a typical farm boy and loved the outdoors. He was a self-taught mechanic from an early age, and when he could finally purchase his own vehicles, that came in very handy. Doug was in the Industrial Cleaning Business from 1971 to 2000. He loved his work, and he never considered it a job; it was his Heaven on earth. His drives to the West Country were often accompanied by a hunting rifle and a fishing rod. Doug was always amazed by the wildlife. Oh, his journeys! In 2001, Doug was diagnosed with MS. He accepted his fate with a positive attitude and a great sense of humor. He never expected sympathy from anyone. Eventually, he was confined to a wheelchair. Doug was content to be at home with a remote and a big screen wall-mounted TV. The OLD western movies were the favorites! Doug will be forever missed by his wife of fifty-four years, Elaine, his daughter, Shannon (Paul), his sons, Brad, and Derek (Jamie), his grandchildren, Jessica (Darren), Kortney (Steve), Devon, Alyssa, Lillie and Lacey, and his great grandchildren, Rowen, Bexley and Zayden. He will also be deeply missed by his sisters, Doreen (Rick), and Pat, his sister-in-law, Flora, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Steve (Denise), Don (Candy), Darlene (Randy), Paul and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Doug was predeceased by his parents, his stepfather, Edward Ror, his brother, Clem Dedora and his parents-in-law, George and Margaret Chabot. A Memorial Celebration will be held at the Innisfail Public Library, 5300A – 55 Street Close, Innisfail, Alberta on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. If desired Memorial Donations in Doug’s honor may be made directly to S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance at www.stars.ca or to a Charity of the Donor’s choice.
