Mr. John Majeran of Red Deer, Alberta passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024 in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta at the age of 78 years. John was born in Sudbury, Ontario on November 20, 1945. In 1950, his family made the move West, and they settled down in Kayville, Saskatchewan where his father owned and operated the Georgian Hotel, which still stands to this day. John met and married the love of his life Betsy in 1973, and they chose to settle down in Grande Prairie, Alberta. They made a life there, started a family and raised their two boys, Preston and Trevor. In 2020, he finally retired, and they made the decision to move to Red Deer, Alberta to be a little closer to their family. John was a salesman most of his life. You name it, he sold it. From shoes to cars, Manufactured Homes to RV’s. There is a good chance he even sold you something. His picture frequented the paper in Grande Prairie as “Salesman of the Month”, and he always seemed to know everyone he bumped into. He loved to play golf, and was a long-time member, and board member of the Grande Prairie Golf and Country Club. He had a wonderful sense of humor and made people laugh, with his stories and his jokes. He had a good life, and his family loved him dearly. He is resting now with his one true love, Betsy, who he lost in 2022. John will be sorely missed by his oldest son, Preston and his youngest son, Trevor (Glenda), and his grandchildren, Brookes and Keaton. He will be missed by his friends, and his huge family and probably even some of his happy customers. He, like Betsy, did not want a funeral, instead the family will gather together to spread some of his ashes back in Kayville, Saskatchewan.
