It is with deep sadness that we share Fred Klestinec passed away June 17th at the Didsbury Hospital, at the age of 79.
Fred leaves behind the love of his life Jackie, his wife for 50 years as well as his two cherished daughters, Jahna and Alycia who loved their Dad “big and fat” (a phrase we all used); his beloved son-in-law Darren and his treasured grandson Gage, the apple of his eye; brother, Rick (Carol) and their children Daniel and Lauren for whom he cared for deeply. Fred also leaves a few very special friends and some very valued neighbors.
Fred was predeceased by his mother Johanna and his stepfather John and many other uncles, aunts, and cousins. Also, he was predeceased by four very special dogs with whom he shared wonderful relationships over the years.
Fred worked for the Calgary Board of Education for 20 years as a Red Seal Carpenter. At the age of 45, he went back to school while still working full time and earned his Business Administration degree. He continued working as an Environmental Service Specialist for another 6 years, retiring in 2004.
Fred will be sorely missed but will remain in our hearts always.
